How to check your mix

No, the reference line is just a general guide for a balanced song. Different genres have different curves. For example, a club track will always naturally peak higher in the sub-bass than an acoustic folk song.
Why is there a huge spike at 50Hz?
That spike is your kick drum and sub-bass. If that spike is massively higher than the rest of the graph, it means your low-end is out of control and will probably sound muddy in a car.
